Angel’s House
Our Vision
We are dedicated to providing temporary housing for individuals who are homeless, newly released from prison or jail, offering them a safe and supportive environment to start anew.
Our Story
In July 2025, our mission to serve the Oak Cliff community brought us to a small community center where we were delivering donated goods. What we didn’t know that day was that our work would intersect with two lives whose journey would come to embody the very heart of our organization’s purpose.
As we unloaded boxes, a young man named Josh approached and offered to help. The minister quietly shared that Josh often came by — not for handouts, but to lend a hand. He was homeless, living in a nearby park with his girlfriend, Alashay, yet he showed up consistently, ready to serve others even while facing his own hardships.
That simple act of stepping forward became the beginning of something extraordinary.
Over the next several weeks, Terry returned to the church with more donations, and each time, Josh appeared — reliable, humble, and eager to work. Terry eventually asked for Josh’s number so he could call him for help with other deliveries. Soon, Terry was picking Josh up from the park where he and Alashay slept, giving him day‑to‑day work that offered not just income, but dignity.
As the workload grew, so did the need for stability. Terry began paying for hotel rooms so Josh and Alashay could have a safe place to rest, shower, and prepare for each day of work. It wasn’t charity — it was belief. Belief that when people are given stability, they rise.
Eventually, Terry offered something more permanent: a home. A place where Josh and Alashay could rebuild their lives while contributing meaningfully to the mission. Josh stepped into a full‑time role delivering donated goods to families in need, while Alashay took on the responsibility of cleaning and organizing the warehouse — ensuring that every item we give is prepared with care and dignity.
Today, more than eight months later, Josh and Alashay are no longer homeless. They are valued members of our team. They are dependable, hardworking, and deeply committed to serving others who face the same struggles they once endured. Their transformation is not just personal — it strengthens our entire operation and expands our reach into the community.
